DSP guns down runaway ‘robber’
KARACHI – Police on Tuesday claimed to have gunned down a robber while arrested at least 25 outlaws during a drive of targeted operation continue in Karachi here on Tuesday.
Driving licence Korangi Baaz branch DSP Muhammad Sayal was on his way to somewhere when some unidentified gunmen ridding on a motorbike intercepted him near Tipu Sultan intersection and trying to rob the DSP. Police said that as bandits trying to flee after snatching cell phone and valuables from DSP, Sayal running after the bandits and resorted firing, resultantly one of the bandits sitting behind the motorbike fell down while his accomplice managed to flee.
Police shifted the wounded bandit to hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. Police found a pistol from his possession while shifted the body to morgue for identification after autopsy at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC). Sharif Goth police claimed to have recovered huge cache of weapons from Haji Shah Ali Goth. The recovered weapons including a SMGs, two 9mm rifles, 44 bore rifle, 7mm rifle and several rounds. Police said that the raid has been conducted the raid on a tip off about the weapons dump by a militant group for creating unrest in the metropolis.
On the other side, police claimed to have arrested at least 11 suspects in various raids and operations carried out in different parts of the city. Police said that Nazimabad police claimed to have arrested two suspects including Salman and Usman while recovered weapons from their possession. Police said that the police on routine snap checking signalled the suspects to stop motorbike for routine checking when gunmen resorted firing and trying to flee. Police chased both the suspects and managed to apprehend them while recovered weapons from their possession. Police suspect that both the accused persons were involved in numbers of street crimes cases and other criminal activities while investigation is underway.
Similarly, Jamshaid Quarter police claimed to have arrested two accused persons Rashid and Imran while recovered two pistols from their possession. Police said that the accused persons involved in street crimes and other criminal activities were arrested in a raid conducted in locality on a tip off. Orangi Town police claimed to have arrested five accused persons including Yousaf, Gull Habib Khan, Mukhtar Ali, Amjad Ali and Bakhat Ali while recovered weapons and narcotics from their possession.
Police said that the accused persons were running a drug den in the locality and wanted to the police in various criminal cases. On the other side, Preedy and Al-Falah police claimed to have arrested two accused persons Hamza and Junaid in separate raids while recovered weapons from their possession. Police said that the both accused persons were involved in robberies, street crimes and extortion. Meanwhile, Ranger Sindh claimed to have carried out a targeted operation in Lyari locality while arrested 14 accused persons involved in different sort of criminal activities including killing, extortion, kidnapping for ransom, running gambling den and drug dens in the locality.
The accused persons arrested were including Junaid, Muhammad Abid, Sumair, Salman, Asad, Muhammad Ali, Akram, Noman, Zakir, Haris, Sohail, Hassan, Nasir and Jawad. Rangers claimed to have recovered weapons and narcotics from their possession while accused persons were handed over to the police for further investigation.
