PPP to support democracy

KARACHI –  Pakistan People’s Party has pledged to support to the democracy and vowed to stand by democracy and democratic institutions in the aftermath of the government crackdown against the Faizabad protesters.

In a press release issued on Saturday night, an important meeting of Pakistan Peoples Party leadership was held at Bilawal House which was attended by PPPP President Asif Ali Zardari, Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, and  Senator Sherry Rehman.

The meeting discussed the overall political and law and order situation in the country.

The meeting took stock of the situation in threadbare and pledged to support and stand by democracy and democratic institutions asking the government to fulfil its constitutional obligations.

Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah briefed the meeting about the law and order position in the province and informed that overall law and situation is under control in Sindh province. He also briefed the leadership about the steps taken by Sindh government to ensure safety of general public and government installations.
