CM orders release of protesters

LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has ordered release of leaders and workers of the Tehreek Labbaik Ya Rasool Allah. According to a spokesman for the Punjab government, the chief minister issued the order as a goodwill gesture.

Also, CM Shehbaz presided over a meeting to review progress on Khadim-e-Punjab Saaf Pani Programme.

Addressing the meeting, the CM said the programe is a mega initiative of public interest and therefore, there is a dire need to move it forward in an organised and professional manner. He said the programme  was delayed in the past and was disrupted due to some elements, but the delay has to be rectified by working speedily now.

He said success is achieved if one is sincere in providing best services to the people. “You should move further as a team and make this programme a success. The project will help provide clean drinking water to the people, which is their basic right and we all will jointly work to give this right to the people of the province,” he added. He said that Punjab government has devised a system of internal audit of every project and third-party audit mechanism has also been introduced for effective monitoring.

Chief secretary, Saaf Pani Company South Chairman and other senior officials attended the meeting.

Siraj, Saeed discuss

Jamaat-i-Islam chief Sirajul Haq met with Jamaatud Dawa head Hafiz Saeed and discussed the country’s politics.

Siraj was accompanied by Liaquat Baloch and Mian Maqsood. Dawa leaders Hafiz Abdul Rehman Makki, Moulana Ameer Hamza, Yaqoub Sheikh, Hafiz Khalid Waleed and Hafiz Talha Saeed were present during meeting.

Amendment to Khatm-e-Nabuwwat clause, Kashmir and other issues were discussed in the meeting. JI leaders congratulated JuD chief on his release. Leaders agreed that protection of Aqeeda Khatm e Nabuwwat was the part of each Muslim’s belief. On this issue, they said, no prudence or negligence should be performed. The persons involved in amendment to Khatm-e-Nabwwat clause should be punished, they demanded.

They lauded Kashmiris on their freedom movement and said that help of oppressed Kashmiris would be continued.

In a separate statement, Liaqat Baloch said that the Islamabad sit in was purely on a religious issue and none of the parties should think of any conspiracy against the constitution, democracy and the electoral process in the prevailing situation as it would lead to a strong resistant movement all over the country.  He said that the sit in had ended under an agreement and the government policy to use force had miserably failed.

Qadri praises army

Pakistan Awami Tehrik chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri has said that Army ensured restoration of peace through agreement with Faizabad protesters for which the security establishment must be congratulated.

Talking to the media at the airport on his arrival from Canada, he said the government wanted to further confuse this matter but could not succeed. He said that a government, which can’t resolve issues in Parliament can’t negotiate with its citizens and can’t leave cosy offices, has no right to humiliate Pakistan any further.

The PML-N government, he said, must dissolve assemblies, otherwise it will be kicked out. He said ignominy and defamation of Sharif family was logical end of 2014 sit-in and now they cannot leave their homes even in veils both in Pakistan and England.

He said on November 30, “Tajdar-e-Khatam-e-Nabuwat Conference” will be held at Minar-e-Pakistan, wherein host of faithful will participate.

He said no one will repeat mistake of Perviaz Musharraf and pardon Sharifs as they ‘attacked the faith in Khatam-e-Nabuwwat. He said he was first to highlight in his interviews that B7 and C7 has been omitted from election rules.

Qadri said downfall of Sharif family had initiated when they targeted more than 100 innocents in Model Town, and monstrously killed humanity. Due to Model Town incident, he said, Sharif family was facing wrath of Al-Mighty Allah. He said judgment on Justice Baqir Najfi commission report was due and with the declassification of this report, true killers of Model Town incident will be unmasked.On arrival Dr Qadri was warmly received by Khuram Nawaz Ghandapur, Dr Hasan Mohiuddin, Dr Hussain Mohiuddin, Basharat Jaspal, Fayyaz Warriach and Noorullah Siddique.
