Eid Miladun Nabi today

Lahore – Ummah will mark Eid Miladun Nabi today (Friday). The day will dawn with special prayers in mosques throughout the country.

Eid Miladun Nabi processions will be taken out and Milad gatherings will be held across the country to celebrate the sacred event.

In the city, the main procession will be taken out from Railway Station to Data Darbar where all such rallies will conclude.

Like every year, the government and religious organizations have planned a number of activities including, Milad processions, seminars, conferences, and discussion programmes to celebrate the annual event.

People have decorated and illuminated their houses and streets, besides bazaars, with lights and green flags to show their respect and love for Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

All bazaars, commercial shopping centres, and government and private buildings were being illuminated creatively across the country.

The government departments concerned have been directed to give every possible help and clearance to routes of Milad processions.

Many vendors have set up colorful stalls with unique collection of badges, stickers, flags and banners inscribed with religious slogans, to pay respect and reverence to the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) across the country.

Like other parts of the country, a high turnover is being reported at city markets selling decorative items for the occasion.People started thronging the market to buy decorative stuff since 1st Rabiul Awwal.

Provincial governments have already prepared contingency security plans with coordination of other law enforcement agencies to guard the processions and other events to be held on the day.

The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has released its special cleanliness plan. According to a press release, the objective is to ensure waste free surroundings in the city especially on the 100 major routes of processions.

The company has issued a duty roster of some 1,000 dedicated workers including officers who will perform duties in three equal shifts during 11 and 12 Rabiul Awwal.

According to the plan, sanitary crew along with machinery will be deployed on procession’s routes on town levels. Besides manual sweeping, mechanical sweeping and washing of the major roads where processions are expected will be ensured earlier. On the major procession routes, timely emptying of waste containers will also be made sure. In this regard, instructions have been issued to Albayrak and OzPak, both Turkish companies. This cleanliness plan also includes the washing of city’s major mosques and sprinkling of water and liming of pavements in order to give a neat and clean look to the city.

On Wednesday, Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired a meeting to review arrangements for Eid Miladun Nabi. Provincial ministers Rana Sanaullah, Manshaullah Butt, Zaeem Hussain Qadri and Jehangir Khanzada and other high-ups attended the meeting.

He issued directives to his squad to ensure safety of citizens and facilitate them to mark the sacred event. The officials were directed to decorate mosques, shrines and other buildings as part of celebrations steps.

Also, the city police have issued its security plan. Capital City Police Officer Muhammad Amin Wains presided over a meeting that approved the plan to guard religious gatherings and processions on Eid Miladun Nabi.

According to the plan, at least 15,000 police will be deployed on security duties across the provincial metropolis. The police will also step up snap-checking at all the entry and exit points of the city.

Lahore CCPO Amin Wains has also ordered the field police officers to intensify search and combing operations to hunt down suspected persons ahead of the mega religious event, a police spokesman said.
