NAB organises debate competition

Kandhkot – A debate competition was organised here at Government Degree College on Thursday under the auspices of National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

Topic of the debate was ‘Say no to Corruption.’ The competition began with the recitation from holy Qur’an, while College principal presided over the event. Professor Abdur Rahman Malik was the stage secretary on the occasion.

Dozens of students participated in the competition, while all the faculty members and students watched the proceedings.

Mazhar Ali got first, Abdul Maalik second while Tanveer Ahmed got third position, respectively. The position holders were awarded cash prizes by Principal Syed Ayaz Ali Shah.

In his remarks, the chief guest, Government Degree College Principal Syed Ayaz Ali Shah, said that corruption was the root cause of disappointment in youth as it encouraged nepotism, favouritism and caused social evils.

He called upon students that if they see anyone doing corruption, just take a stand and ensure that he gets punished. He also appreciated the efforts of teachers who prepared the students for the competition.

The principal, on the occasion, also made the students shout ‘Say No To Corruption’, and the students reciprocated by displaying the placards bearing ‘Say No To Corruption’.

He said corruption was one of the key reasons that obstructed the development of a country.

Finally, the programme concluded on a vote of thanks and refreshments.
