Four army men killed, eight others injured in road accident

KHAIRPUR – At least four security personnel were killed and eight others sustained injuries when their vehicle met with an accident in Noorpur, district Noshero Feroze on Saturday evening.

A Pak Army vehicle, carrying 18 soldiers, toppled on National Highway near Naango Shah Peer Noorpur due to bursting of its tyres. Resultantly, three soldiers died on the spot while the other died on way to the hospital. Eight others sustained injuries.

On receiving information, Sadhuja police, Motorway Police and villagers of surrounding areas reached the spot and shifted the bodies as well as the injured to Nashahro Feroze hospital. Two of the injured were later shifted to Karachi via helicopter due to their critical condition.

The bodies were identified as Irfan, Faiz, Muabat and Imran, while the injured included Awais, Nadeem, Majeed, Fayyaz Bakhshal, Shabir Sanaullah, Irfan and Yaseen. The Army barred the entry of everyone in the hospital.

The army’s vehicle was part of a convoy heading towards Pano Aqil cantonment from Karachi.  SHO Sadhuja Zulfiqar told media that army men were looking into the case themselves and police were also assisting them.
