Free education announced for special persons’ kids

TOBA TEK SINGH: Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon, as chairman board of governors of divisional public school (DPS), announced that special persons’ children will be provided free education in the DPS.
He was addressing a seminar held on Sunday under the auspices of Social Welfare Department at the Municipal Committee’s Jinnah Hall in connection with International Day of Disabled Persons.
The DC stated that the district administration would arrange more and more jobs for special persons in private sector, adding that skilful training courses would also be started for special persons. He said all vacant seats reserved for special persons would soon be filled. Social Welfare Department Deputy Director Mian Zahid and representatives of NGOs also spoke on the occasion.
Meanwhile, a joint meeting of transporters and the district administration decided that all special persons will be allowed by the transporters to travel without paying fare in buses in the district.–Staff Reporter
Special persons, however, will have to pay half of the actual fare when they will travel from here to other cities or vice versa. The meeting, chaired by deputy commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon, also decided that after registration of the special persons, they will be issued travel cards by the transporters.
