Gunmen kill man on busy Sanda road

LAHORE – Gunmen riding a motorcycle killed a 35-year-old man on a busy road in the Sanda police precincts on Sunday. The attackers fled instantly, police said.

The deceased was later identified as Muhammad Ramzan, a resident of Sanda. His body was moved to the morgue for an autopsy.

Father of two, Ramzan was going to a nearby shop to buy some grocery when two gunmen stopped him near Double-Sarkan. They took out guns and opened straight fire on the man after a brief argument over some issue. The man died on the spot while the gunmen managed to escape on their two-wheeler. The police reached the spot when the gunmen had escaped. A police officer said the motive for the shooting was not clear yet. According to him, possibility of a robbery attempt could not be ruled out at this stage. The locality where the shooting took place has highest street crime rate. Police registered a murder case against unknown killers and launched an investigation with no arrest yet.


At least two boys were wounded critically in a gun attack near a cricket ground in Nawab Town police precincts on Sunday evening. The injured were identified by police as Fakhar Bhatti and Mohsin and they were admitted to the hospital.  Reportedly, some boys were playing cricket when unidentified motorcyclists opened fire on them. The attackers fled on their bike. The police were investigating the incident.
