Nine fall prey to road accidents

TOBA TEK SINGH/kasur/gujranwala-As many nine persons died and 11 others sustained injuries in different road accidents occurred separately here the other day.
According to rescue sources, a dumper truck hit a motorcycle rickshaw at Pirmahal. As a result, two persons identified as Bashir and Asad died while father of the latter Riaz and mother Sidra got injured. The injured were shifted to Pirmahal THQ Hospital. After the accident, family of the deceased persons staged a protest by placing the bodies on Pirmahal-Darkana Road. They also set tyres on fire, demanded immediate arrest of the dumper driver. Later, they dispersed when DSP Mehr Muhammad Saeed assured them that the dumper driver will be arrested at the earliest.
In Kamalia, two women of a same family died and two other persons sustained injuries in an accident. The Kamalia Saddr Police said that a motorcycle was hit by a Faisalabad-bound bus, coming from Multan, near Chak Warroana on Kamalia-Chichawatni Road. As a result two women of a same family, travelling on the motorcycle – Iram Bibi and Rukhsana Bibi – died instantly while Huma Bibi and Peeran Ditta got injured. They were admitted to Kamalia THQ hospital.
In Toba near Chak 323/JB Rehmat Abad, a youth was crushed to death by a train. Witnesses said that deceased Muhammad Irfan was listening to a cellphone call with headphone on while walking in the middle a railway track. He failed to sense a Lahore-Karachi bound night coach express train, coming from the rear. Resultantly, the train crushed him to pieces.
In Gojra, a youth died and three others were injured in a pile-up involving three motorcycles on Mochiwala Road. According to police, the accident took place near Chak 353/JB Mehdi Abad. The deceased was identified as Ishtiaq of Hasnia Colony, Gojra. The injured – Asad, Hasnain and Arshad – were rushed to Gojra THQ Hospital for treatment.
In Kasur, a man was crushed to death by a tractor-trolley at Bulleh Shah Paper Mills. According to Teh Sheikham police, Nadeem of Chichawatni was on the mills premises when driver Ejaz reversed a tractor-trolley. Nadeem accidentally came under the wheels of the vehicle and died.
In another incident, two men were shot at and injured by rivals in separate incidents. Unidentified gunmen shot at and injured a motorcyclist, Ghulam Mustafa, of Nizampura on Dipalpur Road. Saddr police are investigating. While in the jurisdiction of Raja Jang police, accused Zahid shot at and injured his cousin Anwar over personal dispute. The injured was shifted to hospital.
In Gujranwala, two persons died and four other sustained injuries in road accidents here on Sunday.
According to rescue sources, one Latif, resident of Dhulley along with his grandson six-year-old Subhan was going on a motorcycle when near Gulshan Colony a speeding truck hit the motorcycle. Resultantly Subhan died on the spot while Latif received injuries and was rushed to DHQ hospital by Rescue 1122 team. In another incident, a truck collided with a Rickshaw near Phaloki on Alipur Road, killing one person while three other got injured. The injured were rushed to THQ hospital Wazirabad.

Man clubs sister, her paramour to death

KASUR-A girl along with her paramour was clubbed to death after both were caught in objectionable condition by the girl’s brother here the other day.
The incident occurred in Katarmal village when Shaukat Ali came to house and found her sister, Kausar (18), in an objectionable condition with her paramour, Shehbaz. It enraged Shaukat. He clubbed both to death and fled. Sarai Mughal police shifted dead bodies to Pattoki Hospital and registered a case against the accused.
Two persons including a girl were found dead. Dead body of the girl was recovered by Phoolnagar police from Dhaba area. In another incident, dead body of a man was found floating in canal at Head Balloki. The bodies were shifted to hospital for post-mortem. Identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.
