14 policemen’s widows get cheques

LAHORE – Lahore SSP (Administration) Rana Ayaz Saleem on Monday distributed cheques worth Rs 20.6 million among widows of 14 policemen who died during the service.

The widows were given the cheques at a simple ceremony held at the Civil Lines police headquarters.

On this occasion, the SSP said that Lahore Police had introduced an SMS service under the Welfare Eye software project to facilitate the families of martyrs and police officials who died during their services.

“Every policeman of the Lahore Police is our asset and we appreciate their services. The department will not leave any stone unturned to help the families of martyred and deceased policemen,” the officer said.

 ­He also directed his staff to remain in touch with the widows of police officials to provide timely help and financial assistance to families. The widows of police officials on this occasion appreciated the efforts of Lahore CCPO Muhammad Amin Wains and SSP Admin Rana Ayaz Saleem for taking care of the families of martyred policemen.
