Anti-dengue measures

LAHORE – Minister for Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Kh Salman Rafiq has directed devising dengue control strategy for coming year.  Chairing meeting of Cabinet Committee on Dengue at Civil Secretariat on Monday, he directed ensuring availability of medicines, spray pumps, foggers and other equipments. MPA Pir Ashraf Rasool, Deputy Commissioner Sumair Ahmed Syed, Director General Health Dr Akhtar Rasheed Malik, Prof Wasim Akram, Dr Farrukh Sultan and officers of relevant departments attended the meeting.

DCs and CEOs of Health of other districts participated in the meeting through video link.  Dr Farrukh Sultan briefed the meeting regarding the overall situation of dengue in Punjab. He said 1032 confirmed cases were reported this year as compared to 4968 cases last year.

Kh Salman Rafiq congratulated all the officers for contribution in controlling dengue this year. He asked the officers of Punjab Information Technology Board to prepare audit report regarding the anti-dengue activities of all the government departments for devising future strategy.
