PTI’s intra-party polls: ECP again postpones verdict till Dec 13

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday once again postponed the verdict over petition challenging Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) intra-party elections.

The ECP has also delayed the announcement a week ago saying that the verdict will be given on December 5 as the panel of judges is incomplete.

Likewise, the decision was deferred again for next hearing on Tuesday as ECP member from Sindh Abdul Ghafoor Soomro is currently abroad.

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice (r) Sardar Muhammad Raza said that the verdict is being delayed due to the absence of ECP member. The decision will now be announced on December 13.

The petition was filed by PTI’s Swabi chapter’s former general secretary Yusuf Ali on June 22. He had requested the ECP to declare the elections null and void as they violated the party’s constitution.
