Ahsan announces Rs5m reward for injured cop

ISLAMABAD –  Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal Tuesday visited the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences and inquired after the health of injured police official Israr Tanoli.

The police official had got injured during the November 25 botched police operation and other security agencies to disperse protestors of the sit-in at Faizabad Interchange in Islamabad who were demanding resignation of then law minister Zahid Hamid.

Ahsan Iqbal said that the government would give a reward of Rs5 million to the police official for showing courage and bravery.

He said that the government would also bear all the expenses incurred on the treatment of the injured official and directed the hospital authorities to provide him the best medical facilities.
