Girl stabbed to death for resisting robbery bid

KARACHI –  A teenager girl was stabbed to death while her elder sister was wounded as what the police said that the incident occurred over offering resistance on a robbing bid.

The incident took place inside the victims’ house located at C Area in Malir within the limits of Saudabad police station. Deceased was identified as 16-year-old Alina, daughter of Nadeem and her elder sister as Alvina, 20. Police officials while quoting the injured victim’s statement said that at least two armed men entered their house and started looted the gold ornaments and other valuables, adding that her younger sister first offered resistance on a robbing bid with the help of the knife.

She further told the police that the suspects snatched a knife from her sister and stabbed her to death, adding that they armed men later also attacked her with the knife when she resisted and attempted to save her sister. Police said that the victims’ parents and two brothers were not at their home when the incident took place. Upon hue and cry, a score of neighbouring people gathered at the spot, however, the suspects have been managed to escape after committing the crime.

The neighbourers both the sister laying in a pool of blood and called the ambulance service and the police. The police and ambulances reached the site and shifted the victims to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where doctors pronounced death one of the victims.

Police said that the victim’s father recently got his inherited money. Police said that apparently the incident occurred over offering resistance on a robbing bid, however, the police was investigating the case from different angles.  A large number of family members, relatives and neighbouring people also staged a protest against the incident and demanded the police to arrest the culprits on immediate basis.
