Two injured in celebratory firing

LAHORE  –  Two men were wounded seriously when some people resorted to aerial firing at a wedding ceremony in Green Town police precincts on Tuesday.  

The injured people were identified by police as Kashif and Aftab. They were rushed to a hospital with bullet injuries. According to an eyewitness, some participants in the wedding ceremony started celebratory firing outside a marriage hall. As a result, two people sustained bullet injuries.  

Police reached the spot and arrested Altaf and Ali for aerial firing. The police also registered a criminal case against them and launched an investigation.  


City police on Tuesday claimed to have smashed a gang of robbers by arresting its two members involved in several cases of armed robberies.  

A police spokesman said that arrests were made during a raid conducted by Mozang police to hunt down street criminals. The police team also seized two pistols, four mobile phones and cash from their possession. The suspects were identified by police as Asif and Ismail. They were shifted to a police facility for further interrogation.
