Disabled man thrashed on refusal to sell land

SADIQABAD – A former disabled teacher was allegedly clubbed on refusal to sell a piece of land in the Bhong police precincts here the other day.
Altaf Hussain of Mauza Ahmed Khan Dahr told media that he owns a three-acre agriculture land which the local influential people wished to purchase but he refused. “The other day, I was at my land when the accused including Shabbir, Huzoor Bakhsh, Akhtar, Faqir Bakhsh, Sher Muhammad and two others came and beaten me with wooden sticks,” he alleged. He said that the accused fled, threatening him with dire consequences after his cries alerted neighbours and they rushed for his rescue. He alleged that the police are reluctant to take action against the accused as they are influential. He sought justice from Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the police high-ups.
SEAT BELT IMPORTANCE: “Wearing helmet and seat belt while driving a vehicle can be a big help to avoid big loss in road accidents.” Motorists were told this during a campaign launched by Motorway Police (Beat-24). The campaign was launched under directives from IG Motorway Police Kaleemullah Imam. DSP Motorway Police Zaighum, Operational Officer Umair Talib and other officers supervised the campaign. They advised the motorists travelling on roads to wear helmets and seat belt as they help avoid severe injury in accident. They also advised underage drivers not to come to main roads.
