Gas suspension draws residents’ ire

SADIQABAD-Yearlong Sui gas suspension has drawn ire of residents of the Karim Town locality. Talking to The Nation, dwellers of the locality including Mehr Farooq, Abdul Aziz, Abdul Shukoor and others said that they pay gas bills every month but do not find gas at homes. They said that they submitted numerous complaints to the authorities concerned about suspension of the gas supply but in vain. “We are faced with a great ordeal as the gas supply to our area has been suspended for at least a year,” they complained. They said that women at homes are unable to cook meal for their families and perform other routine works. They regretted that the authorities have turned a blind eye to the grave situation. “It seems the officials have left the public at mercy of the miserable circumstances,” they flayed. They demanded the authorities concerned resolve their problem as soon as possible.
