MPs condemn Indian ceasefire violations

ISLAMABAD: – A delegation comprising members of standing committees on defence of both houses of the parliament have condemned Indian provocative ceasefire violations.

The delegation, which visited Chakothi and Nezapir sectors of the Line of Control (LoC) on Tuesday, appreciated professional and befitting response by the Pakistan Army for the protection of the local population.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the delegation was briefed on the situation along the LoC, the ceasefire violations by the Indian Army, the losses in men and material inflicted upon innocent civilians, and the damage to infrastructure in the area.

The delegates also visited Trade Facilitation Centre where they were apprised of trade activities carried out between India and Pakistan. 

Meanwhile, the delegates also visited Miranshah, North Waziristan Agency on Wednesday and lauded the efforts of the Pakistan Army in bringing back peace and normalcy in the Federally-Administered Tribal Areas (Fata).

According to the ISPR, the delegation was briefed about operations conducted in the agency, the Pakistan-Afghanistan border security measures, and the socio-economic projects undertaken for the local population.
