Trader, sons’ killers still at large
SIALKOT – About a week has passed but police remained unable to arrest the proclaimed offenders (PO) who had shot dead a local trader and his minor niece after the 10 months of the brutal killing of his sons during robbery.
On December 2, 2017, the proclaimed offender along with his companions had shot dead Mehar Khalid (65) and his minor niece Sehar (6 years old) near his house in Sialkot city’s congested Gohadpur locality.
His sons had been killed on resistance during a major dacoity incident at their electronics shop in Sialkot city’s congested Gohadpur locality. The grieved family expressed grave concern over the police failure and demanded early arrest of the killers. The family urged Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Inspector General of Punjab Police Arif Nawaz and District Police Officer (DPO) Asad Sarfraz to provide the justice for the family.
The family members said that the police remained unable to arrest PO Yasir alias Taina who had been threatening them with dire consequences and killing all the members of the family to take the revenge of his two companions , who were killed by local police in an encounter after they murdered Khalid’s two young sons in their shop.
“Muradpur police’s failure in arresting Yasir alias Taina has resulted in the loss of our family’s head Mehar Khalid after losing his two sons,” they said.
The mourning women said that the accused killed all the three male members of the family in the last ten months. They urged the Punjab Chief Minister to provide the security of life to them.
The Muradpur police have registered a double murder case against Yasir and his six other armed companions including Ejaz alias Jajju, Imran Kashi alias Paitu and Aftab Hussain. According to the local police officials, the police were investigating with no arrest.
640 APPLICATIONS FOR
Deputy Commissioner Sialkot, Dr Farrukh Naveed has approved as many as 640 applications submitted by the government employees for the issuance of marriage grants, death grants and other financial compensation for their families in Sialkot district from the District Population Fund.
While chairing an important meeting held here today, the DC approved 347 applications for issuance of marriage grants, 224 applications for death grants and 69 other applications for financial help.
ADCG Meesam Abbas, District Health Authority CEO Dr Latif Ahmed Sahi, District Education Authority CEO Maqbool Ahmed Shakir and other officials also attended the meeting.
Some unidentified armed accused kidnapped local farmer Muhammad Akbar’s young daughter Saba at gunpoint from her house in village Kalla Khurd, Daska tehsil. The incident occurred on Thursday while the police have registered a case with no arrest or clue about the whereabouts of the kidnapped girl.
MISSING MAN FOUND DEAD
The dead body of a man, went missing a couple of days ago, was recovered, dumped near the backside wall of Kamalia’s government high school No-1. Witnesses said that marks of torture are visible on the body of deceased Umer Hayat of Chak 715/GB who came from his house to the city but did not return. Police shifted the body to THQ hospital for autopsy and started investigation.
DSP Mehr Muhammad Saeed told that poisonous pills had been recovered from the pocket of the deceased.
