IGP lauds NHMP

LAHORE – Inspector General of Police Arif Nawaz Khan Friday said the Motorway Police enjoy an exceptional status among all police departments of the world.

Addressing the concluding ceremony of 7th NH&MP Annual Sports Festival, held at Sheikhupura, he said that the performance of NH&MP has always been par excellence. The IG Punjab said sports activities played vital role in the growth, formation and development of human life. He appreciated Commandant Training College DIG Khalid Mahmood for arranging such a successful event. He also congratulated DIG Central Zone Mirza Faran Biag for being a commander of champion zone in the 7th sports festival of NH&MP. He assured the participation of Punjab Police in next sports festival of NH&MP. Speaking on the occasion, IG Motorway Police Dr Syed Kaleem Imam said that NH&MP was known not only in Pakistan but all over the world as a courteous, honest and helping force. “Human resource development played imperative role in the success of any organisation, while sports are also vital in their development.  A sound mind is found in a sound body and sports play a pivotal role in aligning human mind in right direction and help the forces to be active”.

The N-5 Central Zone won the title of the Best Zone by winning 10 gold medals each. The central zone tug-of-war team also remained unbeaten throughout the festival. The central zone cricket players Muhammed Ashfaq also set a national record by hitting 9 sixes on 9 balls, also a national record, in the final match against the Training College.

Commandant Training College DIG Khalid Mahmood, DIG Central Mirza Faran Baig, Sector Commanders and other senior police officers were present on the occasion.
