Lok Virsa to organise ‘Family Mela’ tomorrow

ISLAMABAD: National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage (Lok Virsa) would organise a ‘Family Mela’ tomorrow at its premises. The Mela would have many retailers showcasing their products for general public. The Mela is planned in a way to pique general public’s interest and entertainment of entire family; features will include exhibition stalls, food stalls, kid’s corner and much.  The visitors would enjoy outdoor shopping and entertainment at Mela.

The family Mela also feature various activities like art and craft bazaar, artisan stalls, garments and Hina stalls.

An official of Lok Virsa told this agency that a large number of residents of federal capital would visit ‘Family Mela’ at Shakarparian to see the artisans at work and for the shopping of winter garments.–APP

Lok Virsa to screen classic film ‘Bemisaal’ tomorrow

ISLAMABAD: National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage (Lok Virsa) Mandwa Film Club would organise screening of Pakistani classic film “Bemisaal” (1975) on Saturday at its media centre. The film was written and directed by Shahbab Keranvi with music by M Ashraf. The film stars Mohammad Ali, Shabnam, Alauddin and Saiqa in prominent roles.–APP

It is yet another classic film of that times when Pakistani cinema was focused on highlighting social issues. The film puts a spotlight on the issues surrounding marriage, poverty and social acceptability.

The soundtrack of the film features voices of Runa Laila, Naheed Akhtar, Mehdi Hassan, Ahmed Rushdi and Akhlaq Ahmed.

Some of the memorable tunes are Husn Walay Agar Muskara Kay Milen, Koi Heera To Na Tha, Ik Sheesha Hi Tha and Bheegi Hui Aankhon Ka Kajil.

The Mandwa Film Club hosts screenings of classic movies every Saturday at Lok Virsa.
