Trump’s Jerusalem decision widely condemned

KARACHI/BADIN/SUKKUR/MIRPURKHAS – Religious parties on Friday held protest demonstrations across the Sindh province against the recent decision of United States President Donald Trump of recognising Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

In Karachi, Jamaat-e-Islami observed a protest day and held demonstration in all five districts of Karachi while central demonstration was held at Banaras Chowk. Similarly, Majlis-e-Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM) took out a protest in Nazimabad, Tanzeem-e-Islami at the Karachi Press Club (KPC) and Islami Jamiat-e-Talba (IJT) at North Nazimabad. Ahle Sunnat Wal Jama’at also held two demonstrations separately outside Central Mosque Mohammadi Kemari Town and Central Mosque Siddiq-e-Akbar.

A large number of people from all walks of life participated in the demonstrations. They were carrying placards and banners inscribed with slogans against the USA President Donald Trump and also chanted slogans against the US government and demanded to take back the decision.

Addressing the protest demo at Banaras Chowk, JI Karachi chief Engr Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman rejected the decision and demanded of the Muslim armies across the world to get the decision withdrawn. He criticised the US president Donald Trump for the highly controversial move. He appealed the Umma to come forward against the move with unity among their ranks. It is not a diplomatic issue but a matter of our faith, belief and religion, he said.

He also demanded the Muslim coalition forces to play their due role in this regard. The liberation of the Qibla-e-Awal is an obligation to the coalition forces, he added.

The chiefs of Muslim armies, whether Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa or Raheel Sharief, will have to play their role, he said, adding that the government of Pakistan as well as the OIC will have to adopt a strong and firm stance against this move. If the governments of the US and Israel do not withdraw their decision, the Muslim armies will have to wage a war against Israel, he went on to say.

Engr Naeem also asked the global community as well as the people of the United States to play their due role and get the decision withdrawn.

Terming Israel a gangrene for the humanity he asked the entire world to come forward against the decision. He also warned to take out a million march in Karachi and to besiege the US Consulate. JI Karachi deputy chief Ishaq Khan and other leaders also addressed the demonstration.

MWM leaders addressing the demonstration at Mosque Noor-e-Iman Nazimabad said that US President statement has added fuel to the fire and also put the international peace at stake. They said that Jerusalem was occupied by illegitimate state of Israel in June 1967 war, otherwise this sacred city called Bait-al Maqdas by Arabs and Muslims, is eternal capital of Palestine.

They demanded Muslim rulers to break-off ties with the US over this illegal and unjustifiable decision. They said that even international law doesn’t recognise Israeli claim to Jerusalem so far. They said that US administration had always remained dishonest broker with taking sides of Israel in the name of peace process. They said that the US and Israel were strategic allies and partners therefore US cannot play neutral role on Palestinian issue.

Meanwhile, PTI women wing president Nusrat Wahid commenting on the US president statement has said that Donald Trump is pushing the world towards third world war. She strongly condemned the decision of the USA President. She said that through this move by the USA president there will be chaos, and anarchy and Bloodshed in the Middle East, specially the Palestinian people who are already suffering the brutal tortures of the occupied forces. The Security Council and Arab League should stand up against USA and Israel and play their due role, she demanded.

The Muslim Ummah is extremely angry on this issue, she demanded that the EU and Arab League and other platforms should stand up against this unlawful decision which is also a violation of the UN resolution, and ask the USA president Donald Trump to with draw immediately the decision of making Jerusalem the Capital of Israel and opening of the USA Embassy.

Various religious groups including Jamaat Islami (JI), Jamaat ud-Dawa and others led by Hafiz Anwar, Rashid Ali, Ghulam Rasul Ahmedani, Allah Bachayo Halepoto, Professor Ali Ahmed Buledi, Ali Mardan Shah, Abdul Kareem Buledi, Abdul Shakoor Khoso and others on Friday took out protest rally from Khoski road Badin and held protest demonstration outside of Badin Press Club and condemned US President Donald Trump’s decision to recognise Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

The protesters were holding banners and placards inscribed with slogans against the Trump’s decision. They also shouted slogans against the US and Israel, and urged Muslim countries to express their complete solidarity with the Muslims of Palestine. Addressing the protest rally and demonstration, Hafiz Anwar, Rashid Ali, Ghulam Rasul Ahmedani, Allah Bachayo Halepoto, Professor Ali Ahmed Buledi, Ali Mardan Shah and others condemned the US decision.

They urged that all Muslim countries to take step to force the US for withdrawal of its decision. They termed the US decision as big conspiracy against Muslim Ummah and affirmed the decision as creating the hatred among Muslims and sabotage the peace efforts.

They said that this was a time that Muslims of the entire world should take a unified stand against the illegal decision of US president adding they termed Trump’s decision as “fuel to the fire”.

SUKKUR

Protests rallies were taken out in Sukkur on Friday to protest against decision of US President Trump for shifting US Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. According to detail, Jamaat Islami took out rally which was led by Mumtaz Sahito, Moulana Hizbullah Jakhro, Moulana Sultan Ahmed Lashari, Sarfaraz Ahmed Siddiqi and others which after passing through different roads reached in front of press club Sukkur.

Lawyers’ community also held protest in front of District Bar office Sukkur which was led by Rahib Malah, Jai Kumar, Huma Sahar, Nadia Kori, Asia Gul, Saleem Akhtar and others.

President, Jamiat Ulema Pakistan (JUP) Sindh Mufti Muhammad Ibrahim Qadri while addressing the Juma congregation at Jamia Ghousia Masjid Sukkur as well as other leaders of JUP including Musharraf Mehmood Qadri, Haji Ashraf Adam, Moulana Rizwan Khan, Sahibzada Rizwan Qadri and others strongly criticised the US President.

MIRPURKHAS

Rallies were taken out at Market Chowk to protest against handing over Baitul Muqaddas to Israel.

Participators carrying banners, placards and flags and also raised slogans against USA and Israel, while speaking at the protesters Amjad Iqbal, Ameer JI Mirpurkhas alleged that all the Muslim countries were disturbed over this decision and such disputes and differences would be extended between Muslims and Israeli people.
