Two suspected robbers gunned down

KARACHI – Two suspected robbers were killed during an alleged encounter with the police in Korangi neighbourhood on Friday. Police officials said that the armed men were busy looting the people at gunpoint while their companion managed to escape under the cover of fire.

Police officials said that the encounter took place when the police personnel busy on routine patrolling reached near the Korangi River within the limits of Korangi Industrial Area police station and found the three men riding on a motorcycle, busy in looting the citizens.

Police officials said that the armed men opened indiscriminate fire at the police and tried to escape when the police tried to intercept them, adding that in retaliation, the police also fired back, however, during an exchange of fire, two suspects were killed while their companion managed to escape under the cover of fire.  The bodies were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities and later shifted to the Edhi morgue in Sohrab Goth. SHO Khalid Abbasi said that the police also recovered two pistols from their possession, adding that the case has been registered while further investigation was underway.

YOUTH STABBED TO DEATH

Unknown assailant stabbed to death a young boy here in the limits of Al-Falah police station. Police said that Roshan Khan 22, resident of the Rafa-e-Aam Society Malir was at his tire puncher shop where unknown assailants stabbed him to death and managed to flee. Police suspect personal enemy was the motive behind the incident while handed over the body to family after autopsy.

22 SUSPECTS ARRESTED

Rangers Sindh claimed to have arrested at least 13 suspects during Karachi targeted operation drive. The suspects arrested during the operation were inclduign the political workers associated with Mutthaida Qaumi Movement London and Muhajir Qaumi Movement.

Rangers spokesperson pointed out that five out of thirteen accused persons were the targeted killers arrested from different areas including Gizri, North Karachi Industrial Area, Bilal Colony and Brigade. Three target killers associated with MQM including Aqeel aka Wakeel, Ikramudin and Syed Hassan were affiliated with the MQM while Hammad and Munawar were associated with MQM Haqqiqi.

Rangers said that the accused persons arrested were involved in various cases of target killing, extortion and used to create law and order situation during strikes. Rangers also arrested two street criminals including Nadeem and Hameed while recovered weapons from their possession. The accused persons arrested were involved in number of criminal activities. Rest of the six accused persons arrested by rangers were including Din Muhammad, Jawaid, Toor Khan, Akmal, Dwood and Anwar. Rangers claimed to have recovered weapons and narcotics from their possession.

On the other side, police claimed to have arrested at least nine suspects involved in various sort of criminal activities while recovered weapons and narcotics from their possession.

 

 Police said that the accused persons arrested were including Jawaid, Mansoor, Abdul Samad, Asif, Ali, Sulaman, Rehan and Farhan were arrested from different areas including Liaquatabad, Mominabad, Mangopir and Saeedabad areas while police recovered weapons and narcotics from their possession.
