German envoy calls CM visionary leader

German Ambassador to Pakistan Martin Kobler has declared Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif a visionary leader. During a ceremony of Punjab Gas Power Plant in Jhang, the German diplomat said he praised Shehbaz as under his leadership Punjab government has taken speedy development steps.  Martin said Shehbaz takes personal interest in the completion of projects and Punjab is making progress. He said the vision of Shehbaz, his capacity to work and his determination are praiseworthy.  He said Shehbaz Sharif has taken solid measures to eliminate load-shedding and German companies should also benefit from CPEC projects. “Today is historic day for Pakistan, Punjab and Jhang, and this day also holds importance for Germany as well. Shehbaz Sharif has great vision of development in the country,” he added. The German envoy spoke a few words in Urdu and raised the slogan of ‘Long Live Pakistan, Germany and China’.  Siemens Chief Financial Officer Stefan said in his speech that best performance turbine will be installed for the project. He said Punjab has taken praiseworthy measures to end power crisis. Chinese Ambassador Yao Jing said CM Shehbaz Sharif is giving excellent support for CPEC and non-CPEC projects and given a lot of facilities, he added. –Staff Reporter

 Commissioner lauds charity

Commissioner Lahore Division Abdullah Khan Sumbal has said that provision of free food to needy persons is a noble act and the administration will provide all-out coopertation to the Sailani Welfare Trust in this regard. He said that more suitable places for Sailani Dastarkhans would be allocated. He expressed these views while inaugurating the 6th Sailani Dastarkhan at Lorri Adda, along with Mayor Lahore Mubasher Javed on Saturday. He said that track record of Sailani in Lahore and elsewhere had been tremendous and the administration was doing its best efforts to cooperate with it. He said that Sailani Dastarkhans were providing food facility to above 6,000 needy persons on daily basis. –APP

 PFA seals nine marriage halls

The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Saturday sealed nine marriage halls and catering companies for serving unhealthy food at wedding ceremonies. On the direction of Director General Punjab Food Authority Noor-ul-Amin Mengal, PFA’s surveillance team checked more than 375 marriage halls across the province and imposed over Rs 0.6 million fine on 17 marriage halls. According to details, the PFA food safety teams sealed nine marriage halls in Lahore, two in Gujranwala and one each in Multan and Rawalpindi. Action was taken in different areas of Lahore including Gulberg, Bedian Road, Model Town, Faisal Town and Defence. –Staff Reporter
