Gilani seeks justice for PAT martyrs

OKARA-PPP leader and former prime minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said the families of the Model Town martyrs must be provided with immediate justice.
He was talking to the media during his visit to the tomb of Hazrat Karmanwala Sharif to condole with former state minister Syed Samsam Ali Bokhari the death of his mother.
He said that his party’s public meeting at Parade Ground was the biggest meeting of Islamabad’s history. He said the PPP believed in democracy, supremacy of the Constitution and rule of law in the country. He said the demands and reservations of the PPP were quite clear to everybody to ensure transparency in demarcation of constituencies. If the reservations were removed, democracy would flourish and bloom in the country, he said.
Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto gave the constitution to the country, he said. He added it was decided in the Charter of Democracy that all the signatories would strictly abide by the Constitution. Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was criticising the institutions of the country. But, the PPP believed that all institutions must be honoured within the ambit of the Constitution, he said.
He said American President Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israeli capital would bring heinous consequences on the global peace. The world has showed reservations over the declaration, he said. Pakistan too did not accept the declaration, he said. He concluded that the PPP would give astonishing results in the coming general elections with the people’s support.
ANIMALS’ CULLING: The Health Department staff has culled 79 dogs, District Officer Health Dr Mahr Irshad said. He added the circle of culling stray dogs would be further widened. He instructed the owners to put collars around the necks of their pets. He said the aim was to save the human beings and animals from dog bite.
