‘Govt striving for provision of health facilities’

ISLAMABAD – The District Health Authority arranged a seminar on Saturday at Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Kalar Syedan in connection with the week-long health activities being observed from December 2 to 11 to highlight health care initiatives of Punjab government at grass-root level.

Speaking on the occasion, MPA Qamar ul Islam Raja stressed that all sections of the society should be associated in health awareness activities being held at focal points of all tehsils with the objective to create awareness about health outlets and related facilitation points.

Qamar said that Punjab government was committed to providing excellent healthcare facilities to the masses. He said that the government was focusing on provision of quality healthcare services to the patients in the hospitals and to control spread of diseases, adding that a comprehensive prevention of diseases programme was being implemented in the district.

On this occasion, Chief Executive Officer Health Dr Suhail Ahmed Chaudhry briefed about the layout plan of convention activities. He elaborated that all deputy DHOs are keeping close liaison with the government departments, civil society and notables to organise public awareness activities. He said that provision of healthy environment to the people was the government’s main priority, however; coordinated efforts of both government departments and community were needed to make the society diseases free.

According to details, a week-long health-related activities including exhibitions, walks, thematic competitions in educational institutions and sehat melas are being held from December 2 to 11 in all districts of the province.
