Outlaw killed in firing by ‘accomplices’
KASUR-A notorious dacoit was shot dead by ‘accomplices’ during a ‘shootout’ with Kasur Saddr police at Bahadurpura here the other night.
The police were tipped-off that three dacoits riding a motorbike snatched a motorcycle from a citizen near Faqirye Wala Chowk and fled towards Khuddian. Police set up a picket near Bahadurpura bridge. Meanwhile, three men on a motorbike appeared whom the police signalled to stop but they resorted to indiscriminate firing and fled towards Kacha area. Police rushed after them and there occurred a shootout. When the firing stopped, police found a dacoit in critical condition. He identified himself Abdul Rasheed alias Sheedu. He told the police that his accomplices shot him and fled, leaving him helpless in critical condition in order to save their lives. Police recovered a pistol and motorbike which the dacoits had snatched from a citizen. The injured dacoit was shifted to hospital but he died on the way. According to police, the deceased dacoit was wanted in more than 35 cases of heinous crime like daocity, robbery, illegal weapons etc. Police have formed special teams for arrest of the fleeing dacoits.
