Bridal Couture Week: Chronicles of day 2

LAHORE-After a glittering first day of Bridal Couture Week Winter/Festive 2017, Day 2 witnessed some reputed names rubbing shoulders with their new collections making heads turn off the runway. With celebrities in full attendance masquerading the red carpet and runway, an affair of wedding wears for Pakistan, Day – 2 was with the detailing of motifs on the catwalk. Living up to its expectations, BCW was a stellar show with country’s top couturiers showcasing their opulent bridal collection.

Show one of the second day of PHBCW opened up by Amina Yasmeen by Mansoor Akram. The collection was heavily crafted bridal/formal with western and modern structured statement, adding volumes and drapes in construction of modern silhouette. The collection had nothing to grab the attention and failed to impress us. Actress Uzma Khan and singing sensation Asim Azhar opened the show for the designer.

Next up was Aneesa Kiani with a collection that was rich in bold shades and dark hues. Titled  ‘Raa-e-Ishq’ the collection paid tribute to the festive season with swatches of velvet, raw silk, net and tulle and embedding craftsmanship work on the bridal ensembles. The colour palette was crimson reds, soft golds, shades of grey presented through whimsically embellished lehengas and layered ensembles with distinctive cuts styled with statement.  There was a diversity of silhouettes all which came together to reinvent the classic bride of modern era. The collection was the biggest hit of the day.

Edenrobe was third to present his collection on the ramp. Overall it was cohesive, rich in texture and impressive throughout. Prince coat and Sherwanis for men were the main highlights. Ahsan Khan, who is set to woo everyone with his incredible performance in the upcoming comedy thriller Chupan Chupai, walked the ramp for the designer.

Aisha Farid showcased the worst collection of the night. It was all waste of fabrics and effort as well. Her lack of experience was evident and did not bring anything new to the table. The rising stars Iqra Aziz, Yumna Zaidi, Zara Noor Abbas, Asad Siddiqui, Sami Khan and Affan Waheed show-stopped for the designer.

Erum Khan’s dresses are quite charming for those who want to adorn themselves with worldly charms–a style that makes one prominent. The ensembles were a perfect fit for wedding and to make a bride feel like a royal princess on her big day. The charming Minal Khan show-stopped for the designer.

Chinyere’s collection was inspired by true spirit of love and loyalty of a woman towards the person she loves. The collection was truly trendy, blingy and very wearable. Actress Aiman Khan sizzled on the ramp as she walked for the designer.

Demense Couture collection boasted chic, on-trend cuts and extravagant flares with complex details worked in with metallic embellishments, sculpted on exquisite fabric giving an air of understated opulence to the pieces. Nimra Khan graced the runway for Demese.

Last but not least Royal Tag’s Modern Man collection was all about taking a great outfit and putting personality into it. This collection boasts three-piece luxurious suits and traditional outfits. It was all about the craftsmanship and creativity which gives every man “The Look of Today”. The fashion guru Hassan Sheheryar walked the ramp for the brand.

Day2 of the three-day extravaganza concluded with the collection of Lajwanti which was inspired by the grandeur of the Ottoman Empire. Full of shimmery dresses trendy peplum tops and bold bell bottoms, Lajwanti’s collection did not fail to impress us.
