PTI launching protests against N power abuse

RAHIM YAR KHAN-Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI) will start a protest demonstrations and sit-ins from next week against the ruling party parliamentarians’ highhandedness and power abuse.
The campaign is aimed to highlight their illegal land grabbing, involvement in the government offices and false FIRs, said PTI former district president Rana Raheel Ahmed Khan in a press conference on Thursday.
Accompanied by PTI leaders Munir Salim, Rana Ubaid, Shumaila Hashmi, Moon Chohan and Ammar Nazir Baloch at PTI district secretariat, Raheel alleged that PML-N MPA Umar Jaffar had possessed a six-acre state land in Pir Shaheedan area with connivance of DSP police Saddr circle.
When he raised this issue DSP threatened him on whom he sent applications to IG police, RPO Bahawalpur and DPO RYK. But the SP investigation is not taking the matter serious and supporting the politicians and his subordinates, he alleged.
He said that the district administration is arranging meetings of price control committees on monthly basis but only people of district Rahim Yar Khan in the province were paying Rs2.5 more than official rate of petrol.
He further said that after the proofs of big corruption in mega sewerage project of city, the Rs750 million project of Abbasia flyover is also in the hands of corrupt political mafia and its substandard construction work is a question mark on the authorities concerned.
He criticised the chairman Municipal Committee for not taking the interest in sewerage and sanitation problems of the city. He said that residents were constantly facing difficulties in daily life.
VINTNER HELD: Police claimed to have arrested a moonshiner with 96 bottles of liquor from Tibbi Waghar area here the other day.
City police SHO Mailk Riaz told the media that police were tipped-off about the presence of the accused in the area. He said that police conducted a raid in Tibbi Waghar under the supervision of Assistant Sub Inspector Asghar for arrest of the accused. “The operation was successful as the accused was arrested,” the SHO said. The accused identified as Sajjad Maseeh has been involved in selling liquor in the area since long, according to the SHO. A case has been registered against the accused. Further investigation is underway.
