Two women murdered

Two were killed in two separate incidents in the provincial capital Sunday. Thirty-year-old victim was murdered in at a house near Niazi Chowk in Chungi Amar Sidhu. The body was moved to morgue for autopsy while the police say they were investigating the death. A 45-year-old woman was found axed to death at a house in the Factory Area police precincts.  The deceased was identified by police as Mukhtar Bibi, a resident of Ghazi Road. The woman was residing in a rented house along with her husband. The police also recovered an axe from the crime scene. However, the alleged killers managed to escape. A police officer said the husband of the deceased was missing since they recovered the blood-soaked body from the bedroom. The body was moved to the morgue for autopsy. The police were investigating the killing with no arrest made yet. –Staff Reporter


Man, son die on road

A man and his seven-year-old son were killed while his wife wounded critically when their motorcycle smashed into a truck in the limits of Kahna police on Sunday.  Muhammad Safdar, 42, and his son Abdul Rahman died on the spot while Razia Bibi was rushed to a hospital in critical condition. Safdar riding on a motorcycle along with his wife and son was going to see some relatives when the deadly road mishap took place on the Ring Road.  The truck driver managed to escape from the scene. The police later reached the spot and shifted the bodies to a hospital. Further investigation was underway. –Staff Reporter


Three labourers electrocuted

Three labourers were electrocuted at in DHA (Phase-VIII), rescuers said late on Sunday.  The bodies were shifted to hospital.  Reportedly, high voltage wires fall on labourers, from Pakpatan, when they were fixing a signboard outside a house in Old Air Avenue of Defence Housing Authority. According to police sources, the house also caught fire. Police named the decease as Fakhar, Wali and Satar Khan. Police and rescue workers were on the spot till filing of this report.  –Staff Reporter


Five of a family injured in cylinder blast

Five persons of a family were wounded when a gas cylinder exploded at a house in the Shahdara police precincts on Sunday evening. Rescue workers said all the five injured persons were shifted to a hospital on ambulances. They were identified as Asad Ullah, Shazia, Zunera, Sheroz, and Basharat. The condition of one of the injured was said to be serious.  The victims were present at their small house when the gas cylinder exploded all of sudden, according to rescue workers. Authorities were investigating the incident. –Staff Reporter
