Opp backs PAT: Qadri
LAHORE – Pakistan Awami Tehreek Chairman Dr. Tahirul Qadri has said that all Opposition parties are united on the issue of Model Town tragedy.
Addressing a party meeting at PAT head office Model Town yesterday, he said that Opposition leaders assured him that they were standing with the victim families.
“Negative propaganda and reprisal cannot hinder our struggle for justice. Legal, political and popular sections must reject every ill-statements and translations by rulers regarding Justice Baqar Najfi report,” he told the PAT leaders, lawyers in the meeting.
He announced that PAT will hold lawyers convention on December 14, stating lawyer leaders from across the country to participate in it.
He said that the Lahore High Court had rejected narrative of Shehbaz govt and it will be better if Shehbaz Sharif and Rana Sanaullah voluntarily step down, otherwise, these killers would be forced to resign.
Qadri said that during meeting with leaders of different political parties main issue under-discussion was Model Town incident.
Every leader unconditionally extended support to PAT stand, he said.
Qadri said that Justice Baqar Najfi Commission unmasked the gory role of Shehbaz Sharif and Rana Sanaullah, although Shehbaz Sharif did everything to curtail powers of Commission.
He said that facts of Justice Baqar Najfi report made Shehbaz Sharif sleepless.
He said that he was looking forward formation of Panama like JIT and once such JIT was formed, Nawaz Sharif would also be held as it was him with whose approval Mushtaq Sukhera was brought from Quetta to Lahore to play the gory drama.
He said that those police officers, who were involved in Model Town incident and were still under trial in Anti-Terrorist Court, instead of becoming scapegoats, they must speak truth.
