Past in Perspective

States, be what they may, can never rule the world. Reason rules the world; justice rules the world, ethics rules the world. The world is not ruled by the those who commit violent deeds. – King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud

The Battle of Jeddah was part of the campaign lead by Ibn Saud to conquer the Kingdom to Hejaz and lay the foundation of a new Kingdom. Hejaz was proving to be one of the last nodes of resistance for the ambitious Ibn Saud. The battle started in Feburary of 1925 and ended by 17th December of the same year. Medina, however, had surrender by the 12th of December. This was an important victory- a milestone, for Ibn Saud and his army and proved to be fundamental for the creation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 1932.
