Joint efforts stressed to defeat diseases

HAFIZABAD-Officialdom said it was joint responsibility of doctors, paramedics and common public to create awareness of diseases and proper treatment.
Chief Executive Officer (Health) Dr Hamid Rafique said that the facility of free PCR tests have been arranged in the DHQ Hospital and the patients should avail this facility. She said it was wrong to presume that the hepatitis spreads by water and disclosed that it spreads through the transfusion of blood and this disease is curable, if it was timely diagnosed.
DC Saleha Saeed said while addressing Health Convention that the government was providing all sorts of facilities of tests and provision of medicines free of costs but it is imperative for the doctors particularly lady health workers to provide guidance to the common man to save them from killing hepatitis disease.
Meanwhile, an anti-dengue walk was held here to create awareness among the masses to save themselves from dengue by adopting preventive measures. Haji Jamshed Abbas Thaheem, Chairman MC, Hafizabad said that dengue is a dangerous disease but it is curable if we ensure to keep over houses and surroundings neat and clean. He advised the lady health workers and other personnel of health department to create awareness among the masses regarding the dengue virus.

He expressed his happiness that no case of dengue virus has so far been reported from any place of the district and we should take concrete measures to prevent the masses of the area from this menace.
Three passengers including two women, travelling in a van, were deprived of gold ornaments and Rs60,000 by a three-member gang which included two women near Ballo Khurd here the other day.
According to a police source, Azam, Bashiran Bibi and Najam Bibi of Meerakh Khurd boarded a Hafizabad-bound van near Qila Chadharan. The bandits who were already travelling in the van had snatched cash, gold ornaments and other articles worth millions of rupees. They left the van near Ballo Khurd and fled. Police are investigating.
