Clerics support JI march

KARACHI – Religious scholar Mufti Naeem and others Thursday assured Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi chief Engr Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman of their complete support and participation in the JI million march on December 17 against the United States move to recognise Jerusalem as Israeli capital.

Engr Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman separately met with Mufti Muhammad Naeem, Molana Asfand Yar and Molana Hakeem Mazhar, here on Thursday. All the three religious scholars assured him of their complete support on the issue and appreciated the party’s efforts in this regard.

Speaking on the occasion, the religious leaders agreed that the US decision should not be accepted in any case. They stressed the need for a joint strategy against the evil designs of the US and Israel against Muslim Ummah.

The scholars termed the US decision as an announcement to wage war against the entire Ummah. They said that the holy city is not only a piece of land but a matter of life and death to the Muslims across the world.

They also discussed the regional and domestic issues pertaining to the matter. They also voiced their concerns as according to them the US decision had jeopardized the global peace.
