Flower show kicks off at UAF

FAISALABAD – Three-day autumn flower exhibition kicked off at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad featuring dozens of flower stalls and showing colours and creative ideas.
The exhibition titled annual Chrysanthemum and Autumn Flower Show 2017 was arranged by Institute of Horticulture Sciences. More than 100 varieties of Chrysanthemum and autumn flowers were put on the display that was decorated by 20 educational and research institutes. The flower show attracted flower lovers who thronged the university to have the pleasures of autumn flowers. The flowers which are blossoming with all beautiful shades mesmerised the visitors. Dozens of flower arrangements which are displaying colours of creative ideas are established by university students and other organisations.
It was inaugurated by UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Iqbal Zafar who was flanked by Dean Faculty of Agriculture Dr Amjad, Director Institute of Horticulture Sciences Dr Amanullah Malik, Dean Faculty of Animal Husbandry Dr Muhammad Sajjad, Dean Faculty of Food Sciences Dr Masood Sadiq Butt, Dr Iftikhar Ahmad and other notables. The vice chancellor said that the flowers give the message of love and peace. He said that there was a need for ironing out difference and promoting unity among all the segments of the society with love, brotherhood and care for others as per injections of Islam.
He said, “We have to spread the fragrance of brotherhood, and work collectively for the development of our homeland. Pakistan was got after great sacrifices. Now, it is our duty to work for the development and prosperity so that different challenges could be addressed effectively. The university was used to hold such events that provide the opportunity to showcase their idea of creativity in flower arrangements.”
