Violence, accidents claim 5 lives

JHANG/ GUJRANWALA – Five persons were killed in different incidents of violence, suicide and road accidents here the other day, according to police.
In Jhang, Abdul Shakoor, 22, committed suicide by shooting himself after shooting his elder brother Ghulam Shabbir, 25, dead. The incident occurred in Mauza Billi Habib in the remit of Jhang Saddr police. The reason behind the incident was that Shakoor was angry over delay in his marriage. An argument occurred between two brothers. It enraged Shakoor. He shot his elder brother dead and then committed suicide by shooting himself. Police handed over the body to family after autopsy.
In another incident, Mehr Manzar Rajbana, Fesco line superintendent and resident of Shorkot City, committed suicide by shooting himself dead. On information, Shorkot DSP Raja Ghulam Abbas and Sub Inspector Tariq Shah reached the spot and investigated the incident. The body was handed over to the family after medico-legal formalities.
In Gujranwala, two persons died in collision between a motorcycle and van here at Emanabad. According to police, Yousuf and Nawaz were on their way on a motorcycle. Near Emanabad, a speeding loader van hit the motorcycle head-on. Resultantly, both sustained critical injuries and were rushed to DHQ Hospital where they died.
