Model schools to have biometric system

Islamabad – Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Division Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry informed the National Assembly on Friday that model schools and colleges of Islamabad would now have biometric system to ensure the attendance of teachers.

He informed that the installation of face detection Biometric System, under FDE, is in process and will be completed by the end of December 2017.

He said that a Professional Development (CPD) programme has been implemented under PMERP to improve the standard and capacity building of Teachers and Human Resource and overall development of educational institutions.

Answering another question, he said that IGCSE/O level classes are already functioning in 02 Model Colleges since 2012 as a pilot project on self-finance basis.

The colleges running O and A level are Islamabad Model College for Boys, F-8/4 and Islamabad Model College for Girls I-10/4, Islamabad.

The basic pay scales of the teachers who are teaching the classes vary from BPS-17 to BPS-19. Well-qualified teachers holding Ph.D and M. Phil degrees were deputed and especially trained for the purpose.
