Three villages get gas facility
HAFIZABAD-Gas facility has been provided for Cheenianwali, Bhonda Khurd and Dera Warraichan a federal minister inaugurated the project here on Saturday.
On the occasion, Federal Minister for National Health services Saira Afzal Tarar said that the present government was determined to provide all sorts of facilities at par with the urban areas.
She said that gas connections would be provided for every villager without any discrimination. She said that PML-N government has completed unprecedented development projects particularly network of carpet roads worth billions of rupees during the past four years and all the ongoing projects would be completed within next few months .
Due to efforts of the government and the administration, law and order situation has been improved, standard of education has been improved and functioning of government hospitals has been improved to a great extent, she said. As a result, all these three sectors have achieved first position in the CM’s Roadmap in all the 36 districts in the Punjab, she said. She said that all the promises made by her during the 2013 general elections would be fulfilled.
INQUIRY LAUNCHED: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Gujranwala chairman deputed Senior Deputy Controller Abdul Waheed Sandhu and Assistant Controller Mian Ghulam Qadir to conduct a probe into the allegation about the issuance of fake receipts by a senior clerk of the board to students.
According to board sources, the accused had received board fee for NOC from Abubakar and scores of other students and issued them fake receipts and caused huge financial loss to the board. The inquiry officers have recorded the evidence of some students.
CALL FOR CO-OP: District Population Welfare Officer Sajida Mushtaq has stressed the need for cooperation of journalists and other segment of society to cooperate with the department to prevent population explosion.
She said that the department was making an all-out effort to control population growth but without the creation of awareness among the public, it would be impossible for the government to control the birth rate. She said that population of Hafizabad district according to 1998 census was 8,32,989 which has been increased to 11,56,957 this year. Although the growth rate has been decreased to 1.79 from 2.28 percent during the period yet efforts should be made to bring down the growth rate. She further said that beside preventive measures and change of mindset, education is also prerequisite to achieve the desired results. She further said that the department was focusing on child and maternity health, general medical care, information, education and communication to achieve the objectives.
