LAHORE – Three labourers died when a truck bumped into a tractor-trolley in Badami Bagh police precincts, rescue workers said on Sunday.

The victims were identified by police as Qasim Ali, Javed Iqbal and Sultan, residents of Pattoki. They died on the spot, rescue workers said. The labourers were sitting on the loaded tractor-trolley when a speedy truck hit the trolley on the main road in Badami Bagh.  The truck driver managed to escape from the scene. The bodies were later handed over to the families. The police were investigating the incident.

A 30-year-old man died at a hospital after battling for life for more than two weeks, police said on Sunday.  Muhammad Shoaib was admitted to hospital with bullet wounds the other day. The man succumbed to injuries late Saturday night. The victim riding a motorcycle was on his way home when two motorcyclists stopped him in the limits of Naseerabad police.  The robbers opened fire on the motorcyclist as he offered resistance during a road robbery attempt. The gunmen fled after snatching cash and valuables. The police registered the case and launched the investigation but no arrest was made yet.
