Comsats organises job fair for outgoing students

SAHIWAL-The COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) Sahiwal campus organised first “Job Fair” for its outgoing students of around eight academic disciplines here on Monday.
A large number of students from different academic disciplines attended the job fair. Around 40 private sector local and multinational companies from the banking, fertilizer, pesticide and software industries had installed their stalls in the job fair.
CIIT Director Dr Saleem Farooq Shaukat and United Bank Limited (UBL) regional head Nadeem Altaf were amongst the guests of honour.
Talking to students, Dr Saleem Farooq said that the institution is proud of producing renowned entrepreneurs of the country.
He said academicians of the CIIT believe in developing a liaison between students and the industry which, he added, helps create job opportunities for new graduates. He pointed out that this interaction is necessary both for the institution and the industry.
At the job fair, representatives of different companies were witnessed guiding students in choosing suitable profession. On the occasion, many students signed contracts for different kinds of apprenticeship offered by representatives of different companies.
