Rawalpindi – Police found bodies of an aged couple from a house located at Data Ganj Bakash Road, within limits of Police Station  Sadiqabad, the police said on Tuesday.

The dead bodies were shifted to District Headquarters Raja Bazaar for post-mortem where the husband and wife were identified as Fakhar Amin (60) and Umaira (55) respectively, they said.

Police are yet to ascertain the reason behind the death of two while a senior police officer has ruled out the possibility of murder in the case.

According to police, the investigators following information provided by locals recovered two dead bodies from the bathroom at house number DK-32, Data Ganj Bakash Road, Sadiqabad.

Talking to The Nation, SP Rawal Division Behram Khan said the reason behind the death of the couple was yet to be determined by the investigators. He said that doctors found no sign of torture on the woman’s body during initial post-mortem whereas a small wound was found on her husband’s back.

When his spouse, a cancer patient, went to the washroom, she could not bear the shock and died on the spot too.

He said that police are waiting for issuance of post-mortem reports by the doctors.
