Eight-year-old rape victim battling for life

KASUR-An eight-year-old rape victim has been battling for life at a hospital for about one-and-a-half month. Parents have been denied justice despite tall claims, made by the authorities concerned.
The girl, daughter of Ehsan, resident of Kot Khan area, was abducted by unidentified suspects on the way to a shop for buying some foodstuff. The incident occurred in A-Division police precincts. Police and the girl’s family failed to recover her safe despite hectic search. She was found unconscious at Sabzi Mandi in wee hours of the next morning. She was rushed to Kasur District Headquarters Hospital. Paramedical staff there referred the girl to Lahore due to unavailability of doctor. She has been in coma since then.
Parents of the girl lambasted Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif for his indifference. They also flayed Kasur Deputy Commissioner Ammara Khan for turning a blind eye to their woes. They threatened to commit suicide in front of Chief Minister’s house if they are not provided justice.
Police claimed on Sunday to have nabbed a moonshiner with 40 litres of liquor from Pul Ghunike here the other day.
According to Kot Radha Kishan police, the accused, identified as Sarfraz Maseeh, was intercepted by a police team near Pul Ghunike for snap-checking. During search, the team recovered 40 litres of liquor from his possession and registered a case against him.
Man robbed of cash, valuables
A motorcyclist was robbed of cash and other valuables on Multan Road near Dena Nath here the other day.
Anwar Tawan, resident of Phoolnagar, told the Phoolnagar Saddr police that he was on the way to Pattoki on a motorbike. “Near Dena Nath, three dacoits intercepted me; snatched the motorbike, Rs40,000 cash, and two cellphones from me and fled,” he said. The police registered a case against the dacoits and launched investigation.
