Sindh govt corners reporters not toeing its line

KARACHI – Sindh Chief Minister’s Media Cell is creating divisions between journalists by treating one group differently from the other. It has been learnt that names of journalists who refuse to toe the government line have been deleted from the official list.

Expressing deep concern over the situation, journalists have alleged that the CM’s Media Cell gives a special treatment to those who report in its favour. Media Consultant Rasheed Channa, who is drawing high salary and is also availing perks, and who is responsible for highlighting the vision of the Sindh government, is busy driving a wedge between journalists and fails to satisfy when asked about various issues. Journalists have demanded the media cell head ensure equal treatment to media men and include the names of those journalists again whose names had been excluded from the official list.
