ECP to take up electoral matters tomorrow

ISLAMABAD – Election Commission of Pakistan has convened an emergency meeting on tomorrow (Friday) to discuss arrangements for delimitation of constituencies and other electoral matters.

Chief Secretaries of the provinces, Secretary Statistics, Provincial Election Commissioners, Chairman NADRA and other relevant officials will attend the meeting.

The commission intends to formally begin work on delimitation of constituencies of National and Provincial Assemblies from 15th of next month.

The National Assembly had passed the constitutional amendment bill for fresh delimitation on November 16.

However, the delay in the passage from the Senate rung alarm bells that next general elections might get delayed.
