International Urdu conference begins

KARACHI – The 10th International Urdu Conference started on Thursday in Arts Council Karachi. A large number of writers, poets and critics of Urdu from various countries participated in the conference.  They included Mubeen Mirza, Shamim Hanfi, Kishore Naheed, Iftikhar Arif, Raza Ali Abidi, Pirzada Qasim, Zahra Nigah and others.

Sindh Minister for Culture and Tourism Syed Sardar Shah was the chief guest of the first-day.

Speaking on the occasion, Shah said that it is the variety of Ahmed Shah that he praised the organizers and said due to their efforts senior writers, poets and critics are present in this conference. He said Urdu language has no any danger because it is rich with writers and creators.  He said we have rich culture and peaceful Indus civilization which is the land of Sufis and peaceful people. Shamim Hanfi said such kind of conferences will promote the literature and culture.
