Kamal records statement in NAB

KARACHI – Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) chief Mustafa Kamal on Thursday appeared before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB)’s Karachi chapter in a case of illegal sale of plots during his tenure as Mayor Karachi.

It is pertinent to mention here that NAB has summoned PSP chief Mustafa Kamal to record his statement in a petition filed against him. The case pertains to the illegal sale of around 5,000 square-yard plots allocated for seashell craft sellers near Abdullah Shah Ghazi shrine.

PSP Chairman Mustafa Kamal appeared for a session with NAB investigators for the second time along with his party leaders, including Waseem Aftab and Dr Sagheer Ahmed. Talking to the media men after appearing in NAB‘s Karachi Chapter, he said that some people to sustain their political position among the masses were working on the agenda to spoil his achievement made during his tenure as Mayor.

“I worked day and night for the development of Karachi and during Mayor tenure projects worth Rs300 billion were completed without any sign of corruption said Kamal adding that no corruption case was filed against him in that duration. But surprisingly this case filed against me as I returned country in year 2016, he said.

Kamal further said that after my return to the country, I had been raising voice for the rights of people of Karachi and reveal the real picture of the people those were working on the agenda of Indian Spy Agency RAW. And this corruption petition is part to silence my voice against the corrupt and anti-state elements while NAB summon in the petitions also signifies that our party agenda is gaining popularity among the people, he added.

Later, PSP chairman addressing a press conference at party temporary office AlKaram Square Liaquatabad announced holding public gathering on December 24. Kamal told the media men that arrangement were underway for party public gathering while people from all walks will participate in gathering to giver clear answer to the so-called stake holder of the city those have failed to provide any relief to the masses but were actually responsible for the destruction of port city.

Criticizing PPP led provincial government, Kamal said that currently Karachi is facing numerous issues and it is unfortunate that provincial and local government were not succeed to take any appropriate action in this regard. It is the responsibility of the rulers to provide basic facilities to the people and rulers instead of providing any relief to citizen has kept criminal silence over the matter. Time has arrived and now the people have to come out on streets for their rights said Kamal urging the citizens to participate in PSP‘s public gathering scheduled on Sunday at Karachi‘s Liaquatabad flyover.

Rejecting the census results, PSP chairman said that party has rejected the census results of Karachi as less numbers were shown in counts which are complete injustice with economic hub of the country. He further said that provincial government is not aware with the actual statistics, Karachi‘s demand of water is about 1240 million gallons but Chief Minister Sindh has quoted less figures in their statements. Kamal demanded the ruling government to pay heed to the PSP demands and warned that usurping the rights of Karachi residents will not be tolerated.
