PPP committed to protect minorities’ rights: Minister

KARACHI – Sindh Minister for Information, Labour and Transport Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said that government is fully assisted the Christian community to hold Christmas celebration in a befitting manner.

This he said while visiting the Christ Holiness’ church Defence view, Karachi. He was accompanied by MPA Dr Lal Chand Akrani, President PPP Minority wing Sindh and General Secretary Ex MPA Poonjo Mal Bheel, Mustaq Matto, Naveed Anthony Ex Special Assistant to CM, Zafar siddiqui PPP Central, Paster Ashar Mansha, paster Ezikior,Pastyer Ishaq Munshi, Paster Shahaun and Dr. James Dean also attended the ceremony.

The minister also cut the cake in advance celebration of Christmas. He was briefed about the security, local government issues and others. Syed Nasir Hussain shah has said that PPP is always protecting the rights of minorities and provide all basic facilities to them on priority. We will not leave them alone as they are our brethren and peaceful citizens of the country. He said concrete measures are being adopted to hold such celebration, has directed the local administration to implement the same through proper liaison and coordination with respective religious places and local administration of churches. He also said that civic facilities like water, electricity, cleanliness , traffic and others would also ensured during Christmas celebrations. He congratulated the Christian community in advance for celebrations with traditional fervour and dignity.

Speaking on the occasion, MPA Dr Lal Chand Akrani said that PPP is always with the minorities in every difficult time. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had visited personally in Holi, Diwali and Christmas events to show solidarity and celebrated happiness with them.

“We are [minority] peaceful, loving and patriot people with our country but some elements did not want to see us happy we should all together will foil all nefarious design and continue to love and respect our country[Pakistan] at every level for development, progress and prosperity of the nation as well as the country. No one could end our love and affection towards the party [PPP] and the Pakistan, we through our unity defeated all such elements and thinking,” he added.

EX special assistant to CM Naveed Anthony, said that we [minority] without any colour, religion and cast, working for the welfare of the nation and the country and will play our due role in country’s development. Paster Ashar Mansha,

 Paster Ezikor,paster Ishaq Munshi, Dr James Dean, and Paster Shahaun were also addressing the ceremony and participated in special prayers offered for the departed souls of Quetta incident.
