Three holidays for wardens on Christmas

LAHORE – Chief Traffic Officer Rai Ijaz Ahmad has allowed three-day holidays to Christian wardens so they could celebrate the religious festival with their families.

The officer also awarded cash prizes and commendatory certificates to the traffic wardens during the Christmas cake-cutting ceremony held at his office on Thursday. On this occasion, the CTO announced three-day holidays for the members of Christmas community serving the traffic police department.

A traffic police spokesman said dozens of members of Christmas community are part of the city police. The chief traffic officer greeted the wardens on this occasion and said, “We are equally happy with Christian community on the eve of Christmas.”


On the direction of Chief Traffic Officer Rai Ijaz Ahmad, Road Safety Officers are delivering lectures and holding seminars to create awareness about road safety laws among the local population, a police spokesman said.

As part of the road safety campaign, the traffic officers also distributed pamphlets at different educational institutions, bus stands, and private institutions on Thursday. Also, they deliver lectures at Quaid-e-Azam interchange, Mian Munshi hospital, Band road, China chowk, Lohari Gate and arranged seminars at CDGL Jia Mosa School Shahdara, Little Scholar Grammar School Shahdara, Iqra Jannat-ul-Atfaal, Ali Public School, Govt Primary School Sittara Colony, High School Karim Block, and Sundar Estate.
