Better health promised in remote areas

Lahore: The government has increased health budget for improving service delivery in remote areas, said Dr Mukhtar Syed Program Director IRMNCH & Nutrition Program while addressing the Provincial Advocacy Forum facilitated by the EVA-BHN Punjab. Citizens representatives, district advocacy forum coordinators, representatives from civil society, parliamentarians and reps of INGOs and UN organizations attended the event. –Staff Reporter

 Dr Mukhtar Syed shared that more ambulances are being procured for the hard to reach areas included 4×4 vehicles to cater the emergencies of far flung area. He further shared that 362000 people were screened for hepatitis within 5 days. He said that one of the important issue of separate washrooms for male & female patients at BHUs would be resolved in the next fiscal year. He claimed that primary & secondary health department was now completely shifting to the technology and invited all to witness the good work .
