Committee formed to prepare TORs

Islamabad – The Capital Development Authority has constituted a committee for preparation of Terms of Reference to outsource food courts of Art and Craft Village here.

According to the CDA officials, Sanaullah Aman, EDG S&C would be heading the committee while the members include Ibtisam Pirzada, DD Architect, Sardar Mehtab, ALA CDA, Daulat Khan, AD S&C, Bahar Gul, AO ACV, and Waqar Akram, Tourism Officer. Chairman CDA has approved formation of the committee. The committee would submit its recommendations to higher authorities.

The MCI has cancelled licences of some food courts at the village which, according to the CDA officials, had not submitted licence fee since years. The allotment in future would be made in the light of recommendations of the committee, the officials said.

Meanwhile, Mayor Islamabad and Chairman CDA Sheikh Anser Aziz has said that to preserve the green character of Islamabad by active tree plantation, ten trees would be planted for one chopped tree.

He said the trees were chopped due to unavoidable reasons. Trees come in the range of any development plan, would not be chopped until 10 trees for one chopped tree are not planted before the commencement of development project in future, he assured.

He said this on the occasion of inaugural ceremony of autumn flowers show with the title of “Gulon main rang bhary” here at the recreational spot of Saidpur Village. On this occasion, Executive Director General MCI, Sanaullah Aman, officer of concerned formations of MCI and a large number of flower lovers were also present.  The Mayor said that love with flowers and plantation reflects the true aesthetic sense.

He said that MCI supports and cooperate with the people who play their vital role in establishment and promotion of flower shows every year during spring and autumn seasons.

The Mayor said that environmental pollution is one of the major issues of the world and clean and green environment could save the masses from pollution.

He said that environmental pollution in the aftermath of global climate change is a big challenge, adding that we need joint coordinated efforts to cope with the menace of environmental pollution.

Meanwhile, the city district government has decided to launch a campaign against adulteration, sub-standard eatables and quakes in the city.

The decision has been taken in the wake of rising trend of supply of sub-standard eatables including chemical-based milk and other items. According to the officials, residents of the city are being supplied sub-standard milk from different cities of the region.

A day earlier, the officials destroyed over ten thousand liter such milk which was being transported from Bahawalpur to the city markets. Special teams would be constituted to monitor supply of milk to the residents and strict action would be taken under the relevant rules. Action would also be taken against quakes who play with the lives of the patients.

Similarly, the district government has decided to take strict action against unfit public service vehicles plying on the city roads.

The decision would help check emission of poisonous smoke from the vehicles which have a bad effect on public health, according to the officials.

Furthermore, a campaign would also be launched against fancy number plates. The decisions have been taken during a meeting held at the deputy commissioner officer.
